Former minister Luis Alex Cardozo passes away

Former Minister Luis Alex Cardozo passed away on Saturday after battling a brief illness. He was 77.

Cardozo had served as an MLA of the Fatorda constituency. He was popularly known as Mam Cardozo.

Hailing from Raia in Salcete, Cardozo worked as a Civil Contractor.

He was elected to the Goa Legislative Assembly in 1989 and served as a minister from March 1990 till December 1990. He was again elected as an MLA in 1994. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly fir the third time in June 1999.

He also made immense contribution in the uplifting of the ST Community.
