Goa is taking small steps towards building its proposed film city at Loliem in Canacona and capturing Indian cinema's biggest moments.

Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) has commenced the process of appointing a consultant to provide Transaction Advisory Services for the development of infrastructure for the film city on 250 acres of land at Loliem, Canacona.

The consultant is expected to provide the ESG, Transaction Advisory Services and assistance in the selection of a competent private developer for the development of the film city.

The Transaction Advisory Services work is to be completed in two months while the entire work assigned to the consultant is to be completed in four months i.e. 120 days.

“ESG has recently released an advertisement to invite landowners to develop a film city on 250 acres of land. In response, the Comunidade of Loliem resolved to give 250 acres of land for the development of the proposed film city. The said site is hereinafter referred to as the project site,” states the tender document of ESG.

Given its strong appeal, the Government of Goa has been proposing to introduce a film city in the state for almost a decade.

ESG is the nodal department for giving shape to the film city in Goa. The proposed film city shall feature products like pre-production studios, shooting locations, backlots, post-production studios, VFX & CGI studios, supporting infrastructure, commercial space, event and concert venue, film school and accommodation units for the crew, production team and actors.
