Daily Covid-19 cases continued to be on a higher side as Goa reported 261 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday, December 20, with a daily case positivity rate rising to 7.23 per cent.

For the third day in a row, Goa has reported an alarming rise in Covid cases with the active case tally reaching 856.

The Margao urban health centre's active tally has climbed to 87 while Cansaulim has active case tally is at 72. Health Centres in Loutolim and Cortalim has reported 39 and 56 active cases respectively.

In North Goa, active cases of Panaji urban health centre rose to 120. The primary health centre of Porvorim 55. Chimbel primary health centre reported 40 active Covid-19 cases while Mapusa reported 38 active Covid cases.

With one mortality, the fatality count has remained at 3,521 and the recovery rate 97.58 per cent. As many as 48 recovered were recorded in the last 24 hours.
