Goa reported the biggest single-day rise of 1,432 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, January 7, taking the state’s total caseload to 1,86,198 and witnessing its highest single-day spike since May.

With 112 recoveries, the active caseload stands at 5931.

The death toll increased to 3,530 after two patients succumbed to the infection.

On Thursday, as many as 41 districts across 17 states reported a weekly Covid-19 positivity rate of above 10 per cent. . Goa's two districts are among these 41 districts that have a weekly Covid-19 positive rate above 10 per cent.

On the Vaccination front, 11,396 beneficiaries received their vaccination dose in the last 24 hours.
