Goa reports 112new Covid cases and one death in 24 hours

There has been a sharp increase in the number of Coronavirus disease cases in Goa, with new cases crossing the 100-mark for the first time since mid-September. Goa on Tuesday, December 28, reported 112 fresh infections which is the highest since September 30 when 113 new cases were reported.
Goa also reported one death in the last 24 hours with the death toll touching 3,520 in the state.
Goa's active caseload has also breached the 500-mark on Tuesday. Goa has 535 active cases with the daily case positivity rate increased to around 4 per cent. Positivity rate is an important marker of the spread of the infection in the place.
The state will have to monitor the Covid graph this week as new year celebrations are just around the corner and there is a heavy rush of tourists in the coastal state.
