Goa to host 3-day 'International Shiv Festival' next year

The festival is expected be held during ‘Maha Shivratri’

The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) plans to host a three-day 'International Shiv Festival' during Maha Shivratri, next year. The festival will be held at the famous Tambdi Surla Temple, in Mollem. The work for the project is already in progress, said GTDC Chairperson, Dr Ganesh Gaonkar, on Wednesday.

Dr Gaonkar told reporters, “Work for the festival is on. If everything goes according to plan, then there will be a three-day 'International Shiv Festival' at Tambdi Surla temple. We have EDM and Sunburn at beaches. On the other hand, those who can perform Shiv Mudra dance can participate in this festival,” Gaonkar added.

The three-day ticketed event will have dance performances and other activities. Maha Shivratri is celebrated by Hindus all over India with great devotion, in honor of Lord Shiva.
