Citizens living in many parts of Goa are facing water shortage in the summer. Many places in Siolim and Morjim are supplied with water only once a day. As a result, the people here do not get enough water.

In many parts of Goa, water supply is deteriorating rather than improving. According to official information, the pipeline in many places is old. As a result, pipes have burst in some places and water is leaking. At the same time, citizens are suffering due to breakdowns in water treatment plants, wide pipelines and unequal distribution of water.

“We have 11 members in our family. We use our well water for all other needs, but we need pure drinking water. The PWD is asking us to replace the pipeline at our own expense, ” said one citizen.

In some areas PWD is supplying water by tanker. However, people are still facing water scarcity. According to people, PWD sends a tanker every eight days, even after repeated pursuits. We met the Chief Engineer at Panaji, but the problem has not been resolved. We have only one PWD plumber available to attend and no official is coming forward to fix our problem, ”the mourners lamented.
