Several parts of Panaji were waterlogged following hours of rainfall on Wednesday, 29 September. Areas in front of the Old secretariat was the worst affected. Rainwater accumulation led to snarls, confusion and vehicle breakdowns.

Even as the rain started around 9 am and subsided by 11:30 am, accumulated, water accumulated up to the knee level

The road in front of the police headquarters is one of the busiest roads in Goa. However, a short spell of rain was enough to waterlog the area.  There is an absence of a proper drainage outlet.

According to Meteorological Center Goa, Panaji received 44.6 mm of rainfall on Wednesday. Officials of IMD Goa said that Light to Moderate rainfall and thundershowers with short intense spells are likely to occur at most places in Goa on Wednesday.
