Re-elected Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will present the state budget for the financial year 2022-23 before the state legislative Assembly on Wednesday. Sawant, who was sworn in as the chief minister of the coastal state on Monday, said the focus of the budget would be Swayampurna Goa 2.0.

"Our priority will be to restart mining in the state, generate employment and encourage the tourism sector," Pramod Sawant had told ANI on Tuesday. "I'm thankful to the people of Goa for giving BJP another opportunity. Assembly will be starting tomorrow & Budget will be presented the day after tomorrow. Pramod Sawant said the estimated GDP 2022-23 is Rs 91,416.98 crore, which is a growth rate of 7.07%.

The total allocation to the Home department which is crucial for security and Law and Order of the State is Rs. 1188.03 crores: CM Sawant

Rs. 1.94 crores has been earmarked for the State Police Complaints Authority and a provision of Rs. 6 crores has been made for Goa Human Rights Commission: CM Sawant

Government proposes to construct a new building for the archives department, for which a provision of Rs. 15 crores has been made. Further, in order to conserve the archival records for posterity a provision of Rs. 10 crores has been kept : CM Sawant

My government proposes to frame a “Heritage Policy” for the State. I also propose to conduct a structural audit of all protected monuments for the preparation of restoration plans. For this restoration and conservation works, a provision of Rs. 17.50 crores has been made: CM Sawant

The total allocation for the judiciary is Rs. 246.96 crores. The construction of New District & Subordinate Court Complex at Merces at a cost of Rs. 125.84 crores is in progress and the same will be completed by March 2023: CM Sawant
