Caretaker chief ministers of Goa Pramod Sawant met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Wednesday.

Party insider said that the chief minister discussed the formation of BJP government in Goa after party won the Assembly polls for the third time in a row.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi said that the centre will keep working for Goa's progress in the times to come. "Met @DrPramodPSawant and the team of @BJP4Goa. Our party is grateful to the people of Goa for blessing us yet again with the mandate to serve the state. We will keep working for Goa's progress in the times to come." Modi tweeted.

Sawant is also expected to meet Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP chief J.P. Nadda and party national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh and others to discuss the formation of a new BJP government in Goa.

While incumbent Sawant is the front runner for the post, many other aspirants are also trying their luck to become chief minister in the coastal state. However, sources said Pramod Sawant is likely to get a second term as Goa CM.

Babush Monserrate, Ravi Naik, Chandrakant Shetye, Reginaldo Lourenco are likely to be inducted into the cabinet. The Party has also agreed to take the support from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Sudin Dhavalikar will be inducted into the cabinet.
