Rain poured at various places in Goa on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department has forecasted light to moderate rains in the state for the next four days. Panaji recorded a low of 33.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, despite a slight drop in temperature due to rains.

Heavy rains with thunderstorms have been witnessed at many places in North Goa including Sanquelim, Mayem, Walpai and Dicholi. The meteorological department had earlier forecast rains on April 5 and 6, which has come true. The rains and strong winds caused numerous trees and branches to collapse. It also disrupted the power supply in some places. Rains also lashed parts of Tamil Nadu, Marathwada and Karnataka due to the low-pressure area. In addition, rains are forecast in Goa for the next few days.

Even South Goa, including Madgaon, were lashed by unseasonal rains on Tuesday night. In Madgaon, the rains caused waterlogging in many places, leading to traffic jams. Areas like Sanguem, Quepem and Canacona were also washed away by the rains along with strong winds. The storm also affected the power system as frequent electricity outages occured overnight.
