Anti-social elements in Vasco are on the lookout after police from the jurisdiction resorted to flag marches after the murder of an individual in Baina, Vasco, two days back.

“History sheeters are on our radar and we are keeping an eye on their movements,” Police Inspector Kapil Nayak of Vasco police station informed Gomantak Times.

Vasco police on Tuesday undertook a flag march in Mangor Hill, Baina and Katem Baina areas to create awareness and keep vigil.

“Vasco police have been undertaking flag marches since the last two months considering crimes. Our team met some history sheeters and rowdies from these areas and warned them of strict action if they are found indulging in any criminal activities.

This march is being done as a preventive measure,” disclosed Nayak. “History sheeters will be called weekly to the Vasco police station. Police are keeping eyes on these rowdies and their whereabouts, source of income etc. These flag marches will be continued in near future,” stated Nayak.

It may be recalled that in the last three months, several crimes have taken place in Vasco, Mormugao and Verna keeping the local police on their toes.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has put the onus of the crimes on the influx of outsiders.
