Gulem Excise department on Wednesday, January 26, conducted a raid and seized illegal liquor worth Rs. 3,77,000 in Canacona on Wednesday, January 26.
According to police, the illegal foreign-made liquor was seized from a retail outlet late at night.
In the last few days, the police have seized many illegal items like liquor, cash and drugs from various places.
On Monday, the Canacona Railway Police seized 139 bottles of different brands worth Rs 25,100 from platform No. 1 of Margao railway station.
Colvale Police conducted a raid and seized 275 litres of liquor bottles worth Rs. 69, 464 at a store in Vailowado on Friday, January 21.
Meanwhile, in the run-up to the elections, the police are keeping a close eye on the situation to ensure that no untoward incidents take place and no action is taken against the public interest.
