Margao Police on Thursday, December 16, arrested 29-year-old Sagar Timbadiya, a native of Gujarat, for alleged murder and assault of his wife Ankita Timbadiya.

The incident took place at night at around 11pm on 10 December at the Nalanda apartment in Ravandond. The victim was declared dead when she was brought at the district hospital at around midnight.

Intially her husband had said that she was vomiting at night and found her unconscious in the bathroom. However in a previous statement, Sagar had said that she fell down the stairs and died.

Following the post mortem examination, it was revealed that everything was a hoax and there was foul play in the death. As the report, there were more than 40 wounds on her body including human bites at six places.

Police has registered a murder case and investigating the matter further.
