Churchill Brothers maintained their unbeaten run in the I-League football tournament by beating Punjab FC 2-1 on Tuesday. The match was played at Kalyani, in Kolkata, on Tuesday.

Churchill Brothers has 27 points, climbing to the third spot in the current standings.

Bryce Miranda scored in the 25th minute to give Churchill Brothers the lead. He found the back of the net by nutmegging the rival goalkeeper after being set by Kingslee Fernandes via a brilliant chipped through ball from midfield.

After conceding the first goal, RoundGlass Punjab picked up the pace. Travis Paul Major found the back of the net for RoundGlass Punjab in the 37th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Curtis Guthrie's goal in the 56th minute helped Punjab FC level the score. With five minutes left in the match, Ivory Coast's Gnohere Krizo scored to give the Churchill Brothers the victory. Despite the fact that Krizo slammed the ball into the net, it was Saurav Mandal who put in the most effort as he sprinted down the right side with the ball and outplayed several RoundGlass players before passing it to Krizo.

Churchill Brothers' winning streak

The Churchill Brothers, led by Spanish Antonio Rueda, are unbeaten in nine consecutive I-League matches. He won seven matches and drew two. In all, they have won eight of 15 matches, drawn three and lost four.
