Goa lost to the Railways in the quarterfinals of the National Senior Women's Football Championship on Sunday, December 5.
Railways reached the semi-finals with a 4-2 victory after Supriya Rautare's brilliant hat trick.
Goa took an early lead as Sushmita Jadhav scored in the 33rd minute. Twelve minutes later, the Railways retaliated as Supriya Routray scored the leveller.
In the second half, Railways started strong as Supriya Routray scored two more goals, completing her hat trick. Routray scored her second and third goals in the 56th and 58th minutes, respectively. Railways continued their domination as Mamata scored the fourth goal in the 69th minute. In the extra time, Goa scored a consolation goal as Sushmita Jadhav hit her second individual goal of the match in the 90 + 1 minute.
Goa had reached the quarterfinals on an unbeaten run through the group stage. The team under the tutelage of Juliet Miranda had two wins and one draw on the group stage.
