FC Goa finished on a high note in their last group stage match of the Durand Cup, following a win against fellow ISL side Jamshedpur FC 5-0 on Friday.
After a shaky performance against Sudeva Delhi FC, the Guars retaliated strongly against the red miners at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan.
Jamshedpur FC has been knocked out of the Durand Cup following their defeat against FC Goa,
The Gaurs started strong and were in control from starting whistle, dominating possession throughout the match. Although Jamshedpur had the first chance in the tenth minute, but failed to convert it. After that half chance, Goa scored their first goal in the 19th minute, thanks to Devendra Murgaokar's flick.
Following their first goal in the space of seven minutes, the Gaurs doubled their lead. Princeton Rebello capitalized after a Jamshedpur defensive mishap and Rebello scored his second goal towards the end of the first half in the 43rd minute.
Goa continued their dominance as they scored their fourth goal in the first minute of the second half. Muhammed Nemil scored a brilliant goal with an assist from Albert Noguera.
The FC Goa continued their brilliant performance as they created few chances but couldn't convert them. In the 81st minute, Nemil scored his second goal of the match, sealing a 5-0 victory for the Gaurs.
Goa will face the runners-up of Group C in the quarter-finals on 24th September.
