Annual walking pilgrimage to Sancoale: Where divinity meets devotion

Watch how the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman organised a 10-kilometre pilgrimage, also known as 'Bhavartachi Yatra', serving as a testament to devotion and sacred experience

As Goa’s Catholics enter the holy season of Lent marked by penance and sacrifice, the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman organised a 10-kilometre pilgrimage walk — a Lenten sacrifice — on Sunday, February 18.

Before dawn, pilgrims from different corners of Goa journeyed to the Old Church of Our Lady of Health at Sancoale.

The theme for this year’s pilgrimage was ‘Let us journey together on the path of Penance and be Proclaimers of Hope,’ and that is precisely what the 18,000 pilgrims who participated in the annual Lenten pilgrimage accomplished.
