Imagine spending a day, riding across Goa, the lush green fields and forests, the glistening coastline, the soothing sea -- doesn't it seem like the perfect place for a road trip?

Well, it is! And, guess what? Amit Sadh agrees. Sadh, a brilliant actor and a motorcycling fanatic who was in Goa at India Bike Week 2024, enjoys taking his 'girlfriend' -- his bike -- around Goa, uncovering the narrow winding routes that make the journey to the destination worthwhile.

Let's hear from him about his love for, both, Goa and motorcycling.

What does it feel like to be in Goa?

I love Goa! I have been coming here for many years. There is something about this place, its people, its sunsets and sunrises. Once you're here, you become cool.

Since you are here at India Bike Week, how do you classify your passion for bikes?

I really cannot put it in a sentence. Whenever somebody asks me, I just get very numb because I feel whatever I say will be an understatement. I always say that motorcycles have saved my life. There is something about motorcycling, the way it has impacted me. The lessons that I've learnt on the bike, with the people and the places that I've reached by bike have been life changing.

Being here at India Bike Week, just solidifies that we are all equal, we all are one! A festival like this, motorcycling, and adventure has the power to unite us, to create this bond, this togetherness, and I cherish all these aspects.

Which one of your road trips has been the most memorable? Would you like to share some of your experiences with us?

It's very difficult to classify, but I was in Ladakh for 30 days and I'm also filming my documentary; the last three months were amazing. I met the Mahila Mandal there (Ladakh) and learnt how they are protecting the forests, its biodiversity and how they have taken it upon themselves from their ancestors to take of care their land.

Since then, I've been living with this thought -- 'what am I doing to take care of my land, my country?' I had this thought that somehow we are all custodians of Goa, of India.

So, with different rides, different things happen, and they create a profound thought in you and this question 'What are you doing? What will you do?'

It's the weekend, do you have plans of exploring Goa on your bike?

I've done a lot of Goa by bike. But, every time you come here, there is something new. My bike was stationed in Pune. So, I rode from Pune to Goa.

I've given the bike some rest. My bike is like my girlfriend, we need to give each other space! There is a village I want to visit which is 5 hours from here (Vagator) and 3 hours from South Goa. Maybe on the 8th I'll ride from here to that place.

You said you travel to Goa quite often. Are there any memories you can share with us?

There are many memories. I shot a serial here, 20 years ago, called Guns & Roses, that definitely brings back memories. When I was younger, I used to come and party here.

Now, the Goa that I come for is more mellow. With age, you want things more quiet and more mellow. There's something about the sunsets here; there's something about the sunrise here; there's something about the people here. The beautiful sea, the coastline, the backwaters, it's all just beautiful.

Finally, any message you'd like to share with your fans and the riders participating in IBW?

Just be happy, do what makes you happy and give others happiness. And, be safe.
