India Bike Week 2024 hit top gear as former MotoGP rider Xavier Simeon rolled into Goa for the first time. A true legend on two wheels, Xavier’s presence brings unmatched energy, making this year’s event the ultimate vibe for bikers and racing enthusiasts alike.

SHORT TRIP TO GOA

“I wish I could have arrived in Goa earlier, but my trip was shortened due to an issue with my visa. However, despite the minor setback, Goa is nice,” he said, and added that he has heard many people speak highly of the State and is eager to experience it for himself.

So, when asked if he’d hop on a bike and explore Goa, Xavier laughed and replied, “Let’s see what the future holds,” and then added, “Why not?” Since his visit to Goa is short, he’s keen to make the most of his time at the India Bike Week and soak in the local vibe before heading back.

I would love to try it. I mean, people from Europe often warn you to think twice before trying Indian spices, but that doesn’t stop my adventurous spirit. I’m excited to explore something unique on Goa’s food menu.

EXCITED TO TRY GOAN FOOD

Xavier is eager to try Goan cuisine, despite knowing that it can be a bit spicy. He shared, "I would love to try it. People from Europe often warn you to think twice before trying Indian spices, but that doesn’t stop my adventurous spirit. I’m excited to explore something unique on Goa’s food menu."

Queried on whether he’d try Goan food or if he knew anything about Indian cuisine, Xavier responded, “I would love to try it. I mean, people from Europe often warn you to think twice before trying Indian spices, but that doesn’t stop my adventurous spirit. I’m excited to explore something unique on Goa’s food menu.”

THAT MOMENT OF PRIDE

As a former MotoGP rider, Xavier shared one of his fondest memories. He said “The most memorable moment was my victory on the podium and winning the GP in Superstock."

While he wishes he could have won more, this remains the most emotional and significant achievement of his racing career.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR...

When asked about the most challenging aspect of his career, Xavier reflected and said, “The arrival at the GP was the most challenging part. Once you’re in the team, it’s all about intense training, and it’s one of the most prestigious racing events, with only a few selected to compete. The real challenge when you’re younger is proving yourself.”

FAVOURITE CIRCUIT

The former MotoGP racer shared that his favourite circuit is the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the longest motor racing track in Belgium. He expressed his excitement about the idea of racing there, noting that it’s a very fast and lengthy circuit, so he’s keeping his fingers crossed for the opportunity.

WHY BELIEVE IN YOURSELF?

Wise words for rising stars from Xavier Simeon are, “Believe in yourself, because when you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything and you can create a positive environment for yourself and you achieve great success.”
