Among the various new establishments, there are 10 noteworthy restaurants in Goa that have recently opened up. Read below:

1. IZUMI, Assagao

This Mumbai-based restaurant, specializing in Japanese cuisine, has opened a branch in Assagao, offering delectable dishes such as sushi, sashimi, yakitori, yakijimo and other Japanese favourites.

Izumi features a separate yakitori bar with an impressive menu, including tenderloin, charred napa cabbage, chicken wings and chicken tsukune.

Additionally, it offers a variety of cocktails. For those seeking authentic Japanese cuisine, including its vegetarian options, Izumi is the place to be.

2. FIREBACK, Siolim

A recently-opened Thai eatery, located in Siolim, is serving up a variety of delectable must-try dishes. These include Coconut and Galangal Soup, Scallop Plaa Hoi Sheenn, Chicken Satay Skewers, Massaman Lamb Curry and classic Thai Omelette with Crab.

The restaurant is rumoured to be named after Thailand’s national bird. The interior exudes an elegant, fine dining atmosphere, featuring terraced alfresco seating.

It is situated within one of Siolim’s most beautifully restored houses.

3. GREENR GOA, Panjim

This restaurant, Greenr, a California-inspired plant-based eatery, is now in Panjim, near Joseph Bar. It specialises in fresh, plant-based foods like the popular Baja Black Bean Nachos and gluten-free pizzas, and also hosts community events.

The restaurant has been set up in a 100-year-old bungalow and is India’s first authentic California-inspired plant-based eatery.

The restaurant sources its produce from various regions of India, including small farming organisations and individual farmers.

4. MARĀI, Arpora

This establishment includes a lifestyle store, bakery, delicatessen, pasta lab and cocktail bar. It is situated where the now-closed local pizzeria Baba’s Wood Cafe used to be.

The menu focuses on fresh, nourishing ingredients and aligns with the slow food movement.

Its offerings include Feni Fried Chicken, Mahi Mahi Ceviche, Watermelon Gazpacho, Miso Roast Chicken and more.

The venue also serves carefully crafted drinks such as Marāi Sour, Limelight (vodka, triple sec, lemongrass, Thai ginger, orange and tonic), and Patrao’s Punch (white rum, passionfruit, dragon fruit and lime).

5. ROBOTO, Vagator

This eatery is well-known for its delectable Japanese izakaya and Ramen House offerings. Patrons frequently return for dishes like Roboto’s Tataki Beef, Pork & Citrus Gyoza, Katsu Sando and Chashu Pork Belly.

Additionally, the place offers enticing desserts such as Black Banana Bread with Miso Chocolate Ganache and Sesame Dulce de Leche, as well as the beautifully crafted Amazomo drink.
