PANAJI: The managing committee of Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI along with past chairman of Goa branch and other members met Chief Minister of Goa Dr Pramod Sawant at his office and submitted pre-budget suggestions to him. Various measures for increasing revenue of State and reducing costs were discussed. Many suggestions were given towards employment generation, increasing economic activities and improving education field in Goa. The Chief Minister was extremely receptive to all the suggestions and was appreciative of the same. He informed the delegation that the government was already working in line of many of the ideas which were discussed and the other ideas would duly studied and implemented. Special discussion was reserved for shifting various government bodies to double entry system of accounting, which would enable them to gain access to various grants of the Central government and other bodies. The ICAI also extended its full support and hand-holding in implementation of above ideas.
