A Jewellery shop was robbed of silver ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh at the Braganza building in front of Mapusa Kadamba bus stand on Tuesday night.
Robbers broke into the shop by drilling a hole into the back wall of Shree Jewelers store, a jewellery shop owned by Siddharth Sangodkar.
“The shop owner keeps the CCTV camera turned off at night. Therefore, it is not possible to use that camera for police investigation. Also, it will be difficult for the police to investigate the matter as the municipal cameras installed in public places in Gandhi Chowk area are faulty,” said Shobit Saxena, Superintendent of Police.
Police have taken in repairing workers of Braganza building for questioning. Police are also investigating whether any threads were found in the cameras of nearby shops.
