'Garden in a bowl' or a terrarium concept is a very practical solution for those who love the gardening, but pull back because of limitations.

You could start growing a miniature terrarium garden plants like cacti and succulents. These plants require low maintenance and less space in your home, but they make excellent showpieces.

The making of a terrarium or garden in a bowl

Terrariums can ne equated to aquariums because of their contained environments. In a terrarium, one will see glass containers, though some gardeners use clay pots as well.

Plants that are normally selected for these gardens are succulents, which include cacti, because they need very little water.

However, you can also use ferns, because they grow in spaces where moisture is prevalent. But one needs to keep in mind that they cannot keep a fern and cacti together, as one or the other might not do too well. This combination needs to be avoided.

How to maintain them?

These miniature gardens don’t require much attention and will survive with less water and more sunlight. Jessie says that when she creates her gardens, she makes it a point to add information tags that has directions to help her clients take care of their miniature plants.
