Along with the annual Carnival parade, The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) will host Panjim City Carnaval from February 26, 2022, to March 1, 2022.

Commissioner of the City of Panaji, Agnelo Fernandes said, "Like previous years, this year too citizens, establishments and the city authority will join forces to celebrate and revive the nostalgia of the years gone by."

Several activities will be held at the Jardin Garcia de Orta which will be transformed into the Samba Square during the celebration. People will get to experience Samba style in its true sense.

There will be a pop-up bazaar featuring products made by local entrepreneurs.

Music lovers can enjoy Konkani music at all the venues. From Konkani language artists to local bands and khel tiatrs to stand-up comedians, the venues will be buzzing with music and dance.

"A culinary extravaganza with a host of food stalls and culinary pop-ups has also been planned at Samba Square and Miramar beachfront. A dedicated zone is being created for local culinary entrepreneurs or 'foodpreneurs' in an effort by the city to encourage them and offer the foodpreneurs a platform to showcase their creations," said the owner of Black Market, Prahlad Sukhatankar.

Bookworm will host various activities for children of all age groups at Samba Square. The activities will include art workshops, craft sessions, creative games, and more.

A stray dog adoption zone will be set up for individuals interested in adopting pets and giving them a home.

The authorities also added the newly renovated walkway along the Miramar beach as one of their venues along with others venues across the cities.

There will be cycle tours and walking trails also taking place in the city this year.

A vintage car rally, a mobile alvorada winding down the streets, culinary food and heritage trails, pop-up eateries, music, and dance are what people will get to witness for this year's Panjim City Carnaval.

The last day of the celebration will see the traditional Red & Black street dance taking place.

Area Director, Taj Group of Hotels, Vincent Ramos, also mentioned that the Food and Beverage trade community will support the city authorities. "Hotels, restaurants, and culinary hotspots across the city have planned to bring the flavour of carnaval into their establishments by curating special carnival themes menus and decor to celebrate the efforts of the city, " he said.

Ramos further added that a special food truck will be brought from Mumbai to be part of the Carnaval culinary extravaganza.
