Goa has for long been a haven for art lovers. From art festivals to art exhibitions to art installations, Goa has seen it all. The year 2025 promises more and will kick off with the 4th edition of the National Potters' Congregation.
Want to explore exquisite creations by talented artists and celebrate their journey? The place to be is the FL Gomes Garden, on January 10, 11 and 12, 2025, where 40 potters from across the country and Goa will participate and showcase their art at the Potter’s Fest Goa.
A SHOWCASE OF POTTERY ART
Pottery is one of the oldest art forms known to mankind, however, the old craft of pottery has evolved and come a long way. There are new techniques, new clay, new glazes and newer ways to fire. Even the perspective to what is to be made, how it is to be made has changed.
Bipasha Sen Gupta, who spearheads the Potter’s Fest Goa, told Gomantak Times Digital that she wanted to bring Goa onto the art map. “Being a potter myself and practicing this art for 15 years, I realised Goa did not have a potters’ market – a platform given to studio potters to showcase and sell their art. So with a lot of help and assistance this dream came true.”

PLATFORM FOR POTTERY & PASSION
She added, “I wanted to bring Goa onto the national map as other cities already had such events. Its passion and pottery that inspired the fest – a place where one can connect and learn.”
The fest this year looks at creating awareness to this newly-evolved art form, making it accessible to the common man and exploring how its evolution is taking place.
Many new resorts and hotels are looking towards lifestyle products to adorn the space and ceramics comes in to fill that gap. A larger number of bespoke pieces are being made to meet the growing demands of the industry.
