Hard work, dedication and determination are the key to achieving goals, and winning gold medals. The tiatr, Gold Medal, written by comedian Agostinho, and directed by comedian Joyel, has an interesting story to relate about disabilities and the triumph over trials and tribulations.

In the tiatr, Gold Medal, the story revolves around about Brenda (Mita) and her only son Gayle (Aaron), who is born blind. But, Gayle’s disability does not prevent him from carrying out his everyday tasks.

ABOUT THE TIATR

Recognising Gayle's potential in sports, especially athletics, his coach, Norman (Normandez), offers training at both state and national levels to help him win a gold medal. Despite his disability, the coach believes in Gayle's abilities and encourages him.

Anna (comedienne Flavia), Brenda's unmarried sister, lives with them and provides strong moral support to her nephew. Brenda, concerned for her only son, is troubled by two worries: securing immediate treatment for Gayle's eyes and ensuring he gets settled down in future.

When Brenda shares her wish for Gayle to settle down, he agrees to marriage, but only if his fiancée has no disabilities. There is a proposal, and the family pays a visit to Nora (Tracy Dias) and her father (Benny de Aldona).

Instead of focusing on marriage, coach Norman wants Gayle to concentrate on athletics and win the gold medal. Once the marriage plans are set, the coach reveals to Gayle that Nora is deaf.

Gayle rejects the proposal outright. Meanwhile, Brenda is diagnosed with cancer and it is in the final stages. As Gayle prepares for the state-level competition, Brenda refuses to bless him, upset over his rejection of a good proposal.

Now, without mom’s blessings, will Gayle win the gold medal? What are the hurdles in his path? Will Gayle receive treatment for his eyes? Will his mother survive till that time? Finally, will Gayle unite in marriage with Nora?
