ASTRONOMY ZONE

Noting that urban residents often miss out on having a deeper connection with astronomy due to light pollution, Satish Nayak, president of the Association of Friends of Astronomy (Goa) & Public Astronomical Observatory, believes an event like NoMoZo acts as an interface between the community and astronomy fraternity.

“There is an exchange of thoughts, possibilities, ideas and opportunities available for people to further their interest in sky gazing, take it up as a passion and be a learning experience,” he says.

At this zone, attendees can look forward to interactive activities like sky observation of visible stars, planets and constellations, telescopic viewing, constellation story-telling session, spot quiz on astronomy trivia. Interested people will be trained in astronomy software and the use of telescopes.
