‘Made in Saligao’, with its abundance of homemade products, hand crafted items and local businesses, is a well-known pop-up market held in Saligao every Tuesday.
And now, here’s an event in Saligao which is not-so-well known (outside of Saligao), but is quite a crowd-puller nonetheless. Saligao Institute, Saligao, is organising ‘Ladies Week’, from Nov 12, 2023 to Nov 18, 2023.
There is no age limit for any of the activities, and the event is open to all. As always, this annual programme promises to be seven fun-filled days for people of all age groups.
To make things even more exciting, two winners will be declared in each contest.
WHAT’S ON AT ‘LADIES WEEK’
Day 1
Sunday, Nov 12, 2023 (Movie Night): The 1963-Konkani movie, Amchem Noxib, will be screened. The hit movie was produced by Frank Fernand, and stars C Alvares, Ophelia, Rita Lobo, M Boyer, Kid Boxer, Souza Ferrao and Remie Colaco.
DAY 2
Monday, Nov 13, 2023 (Whist Drive): A good, old-fashioned game.
DAY 3
Tuesday, Nov 14, 2023 (Children’s Day): Fun activities, including shows and games, for kids.
DAY 4
Wednesday, Nov 15, 2023 (Cooking Competition): The theme of the contest is ‘Salads’. Winning entries will be selected based on appearance, skill, plating and garnishing.
DAY 5
Thursday, Nov 16, 2023 (Quiz): Students are eligible to participate in the quiz, which will be based on general knowledge, with a focus on Saligao village.
DAY 6
Friday, Nov 17, 2023 (Battle of the Bands): Each band will be required to have 2 musical instruments, and will be given time slots of 15 minutes to perform.
DAY 7
Saturday, Nov 18, 2023 (Karaoke & Walking the Ramp): There is no age limit for this catwalk event, at the end of which, two winners will be crowned Mr and Ms Saligao.
