
The novenas of Ven Agnelo will be held at Pilar from Nov 11, 2023 to Nov 19, 2023, while the feast mass of his 96th death anniversary will take place on Nov 20, 2023.
This year’s theme is ‘Walking together in the footsteps of Ven. Agnelo to our Sanctification.’

The Most Rev Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao, Archbishop Patriarch (Archdiocese of Goa & Daman), will preside over the solemn high mass, which will be celebrated at 9.30 am.
ABOUT FR AGNELO
Born in Anjuna, Agnelo de Souza (Jan 21, 1869 –November 20, 1927) was a Goan Roman Catholic priest of the Society of the Missionaries of St Francis Xavier, Pilar. He preached and lived in Goa, which was then a part of Portuguese India.
Popularly called ‘Padr Agnel’ by the people of Goa, he was a renowned preacher in his day and is best known for his retreats. The cause for his canonization has been accepted by the Holy See, and he has been declared ‘Venerable’.
