Here’s a shoutout to all book lovers. Get mesmerised by stories, poems and activities at the annual Goa Book Fair & Children’s Literature Festival, 2025, to be held from February 27 to March 3, at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao, South Goa.
This is where books will come to life, where you can meet your favourite authors and where learning can turn into a fun activity. For the first time, the Goa Book Fair, will feature a fun, vibrant Children’s Literature Festival, which is a celebration of stories for all age groups.
The festival founders, Leonard Fernandes and Queenie Rodrigues Fernandes, feel that such festivals provide a platform for talented Goan authors, illustrators and storytellers to showcase their work, while fostering a strong community of book lovers.
In a candid chat with GT Digital, Leonard said that such events are extremely important. Leonard, the director of the festival, said, “The Children's Literature Festival is completely new."
We have identified six venues within the Ravindra Bhavan, where events will be held in parallel. We have a lot of authors and panel discussions too which will help enrich people’s reading skills and create a niche for book readers.

One book to have its release is the autobiography of singer, musician and architect Remo Fernandes, titled Remo, on February 27, at 5 pm. It is a comprehensive 480-page memoir that goes beyond his musical career. Besides this, the publishing house Goa 1556 will be releasing All Read All Over, a new volume penned by journalists telling stories about life in journalism and other books too.
This year there are 51 exhibitors and 65 stalls, and over 150 activities for all age groups at the Goa Book Fair & Children’s Literature Festival, at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao.
This festival is a collective effort of the entire village. Locals have come together to organise events and book readings at no cost, charging only for material expenses, such as equipment for the planting sessions. This year’s Goa Book Fair features 51 exhibitors, 65 stalls, and over 151 sessions and activities. The fair offers a diverse selection of books, including new releases, used books, comics, and much more," says Leonard.
There is a book for everyone at the Goa Book Fair. Some publication houses like Amar Chitra Katha, Eklavya Publication, Niyogi Books, HarperCollins and many such houses will be a part of the festival,” Leonard informs.
The Goa Book Fair & Children’s Literature Festival is conceptualised and curated by The Dogears Bookshop, a unit of CinnamonTeal Design and Publishing, in line with its mission to make books available to all readers. So, take a break from the hectic pace of life and celebrate the power of stories and enrich the literary landscape of Goa.
