Goa Tourism is embracing a vision that goes beyond its beaches to transform the State’s tourism landscape.
The government is investing in strategic infrastructure projects that focus on promoting Goa’s rich cultural heritage, spirituality, and inland attractions, all while supporting sustainable tourism and empowering local communities.
PORVORIM CREEK EXPERIENCE
One of the key projects under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme is the Porvorim Creek Experience. This initiative aims to revitalise the Porvorim Creek area, restoring it to its former status as a lively social and cultural hub.
The improvements will create a space where visitors can enjoy both the natural beauty and local life, boosting local businesses like homestays, cafes and small enterprises.
In the popular coastal region, Colva Beach will undergo significant enhancements to blend modern comfort with the area’s local character.

SPIRITUAL TOURISM
Old Goa: Goa’s spiritual tourism sector is also undergoing exciting developments. The iconic Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa is being upgraded under the PRASHAD Scheme to enhance the pilgrimage experience for tourists and devotees alike.
Ekadasha Teertha circuit: Additionally, the Ekadasha Teertha circuit will connect eleven significant temples across Goa, offering visitors a journey through the State’s spiritual heritage. Along the way, travellers will engage with local artisans, farmers, and families, experiencing traditional crafts, cuisine, and practices firsthand.
Gomant Sarita Poojan: A new initiative, the Gomant Sarita Poojan at the confluence of the Mandovi, Zuari, and Valvanti rivers in Narve, will further boost Goa’s spiritual tourism.
This eco-conscious project focuses on promoting environmental responsibility while showcasing Goa’s traditional spiritual practices at the riverbanks, offering visitors a chance to participate in local rituals.
SHIVAJI MUSEUM
Another transformative addition is the upcoming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Digital Museum at Farmagudi. This state-of-the-art museum will celebrate the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, featuring immersive attractions such as augmented reality rooms, holograms, and a 5D theatre.
Beyond its cultural importance, the museum is designed to foster community-driven enterprises, providing multiple avenues for local businesses to thrive.
