
Congress has appointed senior party leader P Chidambaram as a senior observer to oversee election strategies and coordination n Goa where assembly polls are due next year, the party said in a statement issued by its general secretary and Rajya Sabha member KC Venugopal on Monday.
“Hon’ble Congress President has appointed Shri P. Chidambaram as senior AICC Election observer to Goa to oversee election strategies and coordination for the upcoming assembly election in the state,” Venugopal said in the statement said.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar welcomed the appointment decision and said that with Chidambaram’s guidance and support, the party will form the government in 2022.
