Four held for allegedly sexually assaulting 17-yr-old minor girl

Vasco police on Wednesday arrested four persons -- Mukund Ravat (35), Guruvenkatesh Guru Swami (30), Kush Jaiswal (30) and Aftar Hussain(23) all residents of Vasco -- for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old minor girl.

Police inspector Kapil Nayak informed that the mother of the minor had lodged a missing complaint about her daughter on August 11.

At that point, the police had registered a kidnapping case against an unknown person under section 363 of IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children's Act.

PI Nayak said that after recording the statement of the minor girl, it was revealed that the four persons sexually assaulted her independently on different occasions.

One of the four had sexually abused the girl last year in August 2021 and again in March 2022. The accused person was working as a driver at the house of the girl.

The other three arrested persons sexually abused her from the time she went missing from her home.

Vasco police have added the section of IPC 376 r/w section 34 and 4 (a)12 of POCSO Act.

All the arrested persons will be produced before Junior Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vasco today evening.
