Deputy Chief Minister Manohar "Babu" Ajgaonkar has tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, January 11. The Tourism Minister has been admitted to Manipal hospital at Dona Paula.

On Friday, he had met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to discuss Margao's long-pending Kabrastan issue.

Last week, Congress Goa state president Girish Chodankar had tested positive for Covid-19.

On Tuesday. Goa logged 1,592 fresh coronavirus cases pushing the overall tally to 1,21,501 as the test positivity rate shot up to 27.38 per cent.

The number of active cases has crossed the 10,000-mark. The new infections have taken the active tally to 10,139.
