The post-mortem conducted on BJP functionary Sonali Phogat's body stated that there were multiple blunt force injuries on her, even as the cause of death has been reserved.

The Anjuna police have now registered a murder case against two persons, namely Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhvinder Singh under Section 302 (r/w 34) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The case has placed the Goa Police in a very embarrassing situation with the family of the deceased calling the them lethargic in their investigation.

They alleged the involvement of Phogat’s personal assistant Sudhir and the other person Sukhvinder in her death.

The brother of the deceased filed a police complaint against Sudhir and Sukhvinder at the Anjuna police station.

When questioned about arrests in the case, police said that the duo has not been taken into custody yet.

The Anjuna police said the viscera of the deceased has been preserved and it will be sent for examination soon.

The BJP leader was brought dead to St Anthony Hospital at Anjuna on Tuesday morning. Police had initially registered it as a case of unnatural death.
