Goa expands its international footprint as Manohar International Airport, Mopa, welcomes the launch of direct flights to Abu Dhabi and Kuwait, operated by Air India Express.

This milestone enhances global connectivity for tourists, business travellers and the Goan diaspora, while opening new avenues for tourism, trade and cultural exchange. The flights operate twice a week: Goa to Kuwait on Thursdays and Saturdays; and Goa to Abu Dhabi on Mondays and Tuesdays.

With these new routes, travellers from Kuwait and Abu Dhabi can enjoy seamless access to Goa’s diverse offerings — pristine beaches, lush monsoon landscapes, majestic waterfalls, vibrant festivals, rich heritage, and world-renowned cuisine.

The launch reflects Manohar International Airport’s continued commitment to strengthening Goa’s global reach and positioning it as a year-round, internationally sought-after destination.

Speaking about the the new flights, Goa's Minister for Tourism, Rohan Khaunte stated, “Goa’s international connectivity is about creating bridges between cultures, economies and people. The launch of Air India Express’ direct flights from Kuwait and Abu Dhabi complements our efforts to attract quality tourism, strengthen the local economy, and establish Goa as a year-round destination."

He added that these flights would serve as a catalyst for economic development, cultural exchange, and deeper bilateral ties between Goa and these key international markets.

CEO and Director, GMR Goa International Airport Ltd., R V Sheshan, expressed happiness at the launch of the direct flights to Kuwait and Abu Dhabi as a landmark achievement for Goa's Manohar International Airport.

“These connections not only improve convenience for travellers but also reinforce Goa’s standing on the global aviation map. We remain committed to delivering seamless, world-class travel experiences for both international visitors and the Goan community,” he mentioned.

Director of Goa Tourism, Kedar Naik, also shared his views on the initiative. “The enhanced connectivity from these international flights aligns with Goa’s vision of promoting regenerative and sustainable tourism," he added.

The Tourism Department of Goa invites travellers from Kuwait and Abu Dhabi to explore Goa’s unique charm, beyond the beaches, by immersing themselves in the State's heritage, hinterlands, festivals and vibrant communities.
