Young couple killed in road accident in Raia, South Goa

A young couple, in their early 30s, died in a fatal road accident at Gandhinagar, Raia, when a speeding car rammed into a two-wheeler they were travelling on late Sunday night.
The husband-wife has been identified as Loyola and Kennedy D'Costa. The duo was killed on the spot, leaving behind their eight-year-old daughter.
According to the police, the couple were on their way home in Curtorim when the accused, Nathaniel Menezes, 23, hit a parked bus and rammed into the couple.
The impact of the collision was such that the couple were flung off the two-wheeler and the bike dragged for 100m before 100m before coming to a stop.
Police have arrested the accused for rash and negligent driving, culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sent blood samples of the accused for testing.
