On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Museum of Christian Art (MoCA), Old Goa is organising the second edition of Summercraft – an exciting two-day festival by children, for children!
With sustainability and biodiversity at its core, the festival will showcase children's creativity through handmade products, food, and more at the Children’s Bazaar, along with a range of specially curated workshops.
At Summercraft, one will be able to stroll through rows of colourful booths, each showcasing handmade treasures crafted with love by talented young sellers.
From whimsical jewellery and hand-sewn products to delicious food, every item promises a unique story of creativity and care.
The organisers have planned the itineraries as follows:
DAY 1, May 17, 2025 | 4 pm to 6.30 pm
EXHIBITION OPENING
This is a special exhibition of children's art, a vibrant showcase of imagination and artistic expression. The artworks on display have been created by young participants during museum workshops, where they explored and drew inspiration from the museum's rich collection.
This exhibition celebrates the power of art to inspire curiosity and self-expression. It also offers a glimpse into how children view the world, translating history, culture, and imagination into their own artistic narratives.
CHILDREN'S BAZAAR | 4 pm to 6.30 pm
A special bazaar to give young artisans and creators a platform to display their own handmade products including a wide range of things such as cosy scarves, whimsical clay figurines, greeting cards, beautiful jewellery, artworks or mouth-watering delicacies.
GLASS PAINTING WORKSHOP | 4 pm to 6.30 pm
This workshop offers an opportunity to explore painting with a new medium. Participants will create sun-kissed artworks inspired by the museum’s collection, while also gaining insight into some of the most beloved pieces on display.
At this workshop, only translucent acrylic sheets will be used as a base for painting and there will be no use of glass.
