‘Gaddiya Uchiya Rakhiya..’ India's obsession with this song is not fading anytime soon. It recently made it to the number 1 trending songs in the country and now Goa too is set to get hooked to this song, as the singer, Riar Saab is set to perform in Goa, today, July 21, 2023.
The 23-year-old hip-hop star, who is currently on 'The Obsessed Tour' talks about his romantic love zone mode that inspired some of his songs and how Goa is just like his home town Punjab.
Listeners, from all over the globe, are tuning into your song, Obsessed, day and night. What was it like working on this song? What was the inspiration behind it?
The experience was amazing; I think the inspiration just came when Abhijay and I were sitting in the studio, wanting to create something that would really help us break out. We are glad that it turned out so well.
Did you expect this kind of response -- where not only micro-influencers, but also Bollywood stars and a global audience would be listening to it, that too, non-stop?
I knew that we had created something incredible, and it was bound to get its due. This scale, of course, we had not imagined, shout-out to Vicky Paaji for that.
You also sang songs like Promise, Trust, and Area 06. Is there any message about ‘relationships’ that you are trying to subtly give your listeners?
I was just in that romantic love zone when I wrote Promise, Obsessed and Trust. Area 06 is a completely different vibe. In the future, I will be doing a mix of themes and topics.
Punjabi music is making waves right now. Do you also plan on taking it a notch higher through your music?
Not just me -- there are so many young artists taking it up notches higher. I consider it a positive sum game, the more the merrier.
In this journey of music, which was your biggest moment.
Of course, the love that Obsessed got was the biggest moment of my career, and now this tour which I’m doing has been incredible. But, I am not one to sit on my laurels, I am continuously working to create better music for the audience.
