In a unique fusion of history, culture, and music, The Live Music Project (TLMP), Art Escape, and Silva Heritage are set to present an unforgettable event on March 21, Friday—the launch concert of Bageecha, the big band alter ego of the Roz Angon project.

Bageecha is an eight-piece band that reimagines classic Hindi film retro music with a unique jazz and disco twist. The band blends the nostalgic melodies of 60s orchestral Bollywood hits and 70s disco rhythms, infusing them with modern soundscapes.

With talented musicians, including Goa-born Jose Neil Gomes on guitar and vocals, the band creates a dynamic performance that merges traditional Indian music with contemporary jazz, funk, and psychedelic influences, offering a fresh yet nostalgic musical experience.

To be held in the 350-year-old Silva Heritage mansion courtyard (Roz Angon) in Benaulim, this one-of-a-kind event promises to take audiences on a nostalgic and soulful journey.

With limited tickets available—only 100 spots—attendees will be able to enjoy the music up close, standing, sitting, or dancing around the corridors as the eight-piece Bageecha band performs live in the rose garden courtyard.

The name, Bageecha, meaning "garden" in Hindi, reflects the band’s philosophy: to cultivate an environment where both tradition and modernity can bloom together.

Besides Jose Neil Gomes, the band features a line-up of talented musicians who bring diverse influences and energy to the stage. Kaprila Keishing and Sampriti Dastidar provide powerful vocals, while the horn section—featuring Daveed Goren (Tenor Saxophone) and Adrien Braud (Clarinet)—adds layers of warmth and complexity. The rhythm section, comprising Lior Beliash (Drums), Taras Tork (Bass), and Dhir Mody (Percussions), ensures a tight and groovy foundation.

How Goa’s tourism divide is shaping its future

The venue itself is a central part of the experience. Silva Heritage, a beautifully preserved 350-year-old colonial mansion, represents the confluence of Portuguese Catholic and subtle Hindu influences, standing as one of the last grand houses of its kind in South Goa.

The mansion’s antique charm, with its lush gardens and exquisite architecture, creates the perfect backdrop for an evening of music that celebrates India’s rich cultural history.
