As the boat caresses the endless water body, you feel the breeze on your face and watch the gentle ripples its sends across. Surrounded by the azure of nature, it’s sure to drive away your blues.
Goa’s extensive coastline has boosted water-related activities, be it an adventure on a yacht/boat, rafting through the rivers, gliding on a surf or just fishing.
Set to promote Goa’s marine tourism, while bringing together businesses related to the sales and repairs of water equipment and other displays, an International Boat Show is currently underway at Darya Sangam Grounds, Kala Academy, Panjim.
Bringing the 9th edition of the exhibit back to Goa, the one-of-a-kind festival is organized by the Trinity Group in collaboration with Goa Government, Goa Shipyards Association, Indian Coast Guard, IMF, Indian Navy, Yachting Association of India and others.
Here are a few reasons why you must visit this three-day event this weekend.
INTEREST IN THE WATER WORLD
If you’re a water baby or just have a keen interest in shipbuilding, aquamarine activities and all water-related stuff, you got to make your way to the expo that, among others, has a couple of stalls displaying equipment like kayaks, speed boats, jet skis and other water sports gear.
“It’s the only show of its kind that combines all water-related activities, including for leisure. We have hundreds of products, right from yachts and boats to fishing boats, pontoons, jet skis, so it’s a complete event,” informed Joseph Dias, Chairman, Trinity Group.
OPPORTUNITY FOR BUSINESS
Want to get your own boating venture or find distributors for water-related equipment? The chances of finding like-minded partners at this expo are high.
Explaining their line of products and giving hands-on information about their boats docked for the next three days at their stall, meet experts like Yasar from SailSafe Marine, a manufacture of inflatable boats – rafts, rescue boats – all from Maharashtra, or Goa’s own ship-builder John Fernandes with his venture Boat Craft.
Apart from entering into a business venture, if you wish to get certification courses in water sports or life-saving and life-guarding, head to the stall set up by the National Institute of Watersports that’s promoting its academic programs and other courses.
EXPERIENCE IT ALL
Pick your favourite merchandise or admire the miniature ships displayed by the Indian Navy, there’s a lot to experience at the festival.
“We offer sailing experiences,” smiled the exhibitor at the Aqual Sail stall, as she spoke about the various adventures they conduct from kayaking, windsurfing, to the two-day certified courses along the shores of Bambolim.
The festival that began on Friday, has a lot in store for the next two days. So, don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn, or strike up conversations with water enthusiasts. The expo is free for all.
