Tucked away in the quiet village of Agassaim, in Tiswadi, Brit’s Palace isn’t just another luxury stay. It’s a heartfelt tribute to family, heritage and a bit of serendipity.
What began as an empty villa gathering dust, has today blossomed into a thriving Airbnb getaway and a charming boutique hotel experience.
The story behind Brit’s Palace is as personal as it gets. “It used to be Brito’s home, and while he worked away for most of the year, the seven-bedroom villa stayed vacant,” recalls co-founder Crystal. “So I suggested, why not convert it into an Airbnb property and see how it goes. There was nothing to lose.”
And that’s how it all began — with a simple idea that led to something beautiful.
The property, once owned by Brito’s late parents, holds deep emotional significance. His mother, of French and Portuguese descent, and his Goan father raised eight children in this ancestral house.
As the youngest of them all, Brito inherited the property, though by then, it was nearly in ruins. In 2009, he began restoring it, determined to fulfil his mother’s dream of a large family home where all her children could gather under one roof.
Four years later, the seven-bedroom house was complete.
“We didn’t start Brit’s Palace with the aim of making money,” says Crystal. “We just wanted others to enjoy the villa, the greenery, the calm and serenity of the village, and everything else the place has to offer.”
That pure intention has paid off — Brit’s Palace is now an Airbnb ‘Superhost’ property, beloved by visitors for its warm hospitality and unique charm.
The villa, which comfortably accommodates up to 18 people, features seven fully air-conditioned bedrooms, eight bathrooms, two swimming pools (one exclusively for villa guests), a basketball court, dance floor, garden gazebo, and even a flexible check-in/check-out policy.
“It’s one of a kind — it’s refreshing, it makes you feel at home, it makes you want to stay longer,” the team shares.
But, the vision didn’t stop there. In 2022, they added 16 standalone rooms in the same building and a restaurant, Coastal Flames, to cater to travellers who didn’t require an entire villa.
These rooms have become particularly popular among European tourists exploring India, and offer various categories like standard AC rooms, deluxe rooms and family rooms.
Though breakfast and meals aren’t included in the standard villa tariff, Brit’s Palace ensures every guest is catered to personally.

“If guests want certain meals included, we cater to them based on their requirements,” explains Crystal. “We tailor our services based on our guests’ requests.”
So, what’s behind the name? Nothing too fancy. As Crystal puts it, “Just a shorter version of Brito’s Palace!”
Brit’s Palace is more than just a stay — it’s a story of home, hospitality and heart. Whether you’re gathering with friends, celebrating with family, or simply soaking in Goan tranquillity, this hidden gem offers a slice of everything — with a whole lot of soul.
