Here are two interesting events to attend if you are in Goa this week.

LEARN SGRAFFITO

Learn about surface design at a Sgraffito workshop at the Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda, from June 28 – 30. Artist Ramdas Gadekar will be the resource person for the event.

Participants will learn to create their own plates, design mandalas, glaze and mark guidelines onto the plate, scratch the mandala design, and finally, take home the fired Sgraffito plate.

Carpe Diem and Goa's burgeoning art gallery scene

Sgraffito is an art technique which involves scratching a surface to reveal a layer of colour. The word comes from the Italian word, graffito, which means 'to scratch'.

This technique can be used on painting, pottery and glass.

Discover the riverside village of Siolim through a walk organised by The Museum of Christian Art, Old Goa, on June 29, 2024.

Participants will get to explore the unique design of this village and the interesting chapels at each end along with the main church dedicated to St Anthony of Padua.

Light refreshments will also be served.

All funds raised will go towards the conservation, educational and cultural initiatives organised by the Museum of Christian Art.
