Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar exploration mission, was launched, and the entire world watched in wonder as it happened. Being there to witness something that incredible was an experience beyond words. The air was thick with collective excitement, nervousness and expectancy.
Excitement permeated the air at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India, as the day of the launch approached.
It seemed time had stopped, and everyone's concentration was completely on this amazing task. In anticipation of this momentous occasion, journalists, space enthusiasts, scientists and dignitaries assembled.
The countdown started with a sense of collective anticipation. As the seconds passed, enthusiasm increased significantly. Time seemed to slow down, increasing the trepidation and expectation.
Finally, ignition follows! The lift-off was an incredible display of power and spectacle that gave me an uncontrollable high of adrenaline. Chandrayaan-3 was launched into the air by the GSLV Mk III, steadily shrinking in size as it rose in altitude and left a trail of fiery exhaust in its wake.
The moment Chandrayaan-3 broke through the atmosphere of the Earth was magical. All those present will never forget the surreal scene that was painted in the sky by the rocket engines' brilliant flames.
Everyone was reminded of the endless possibilities and mysteries that exist beyond our planet by the orbiter's slow climb into the vastness of space, which was both inspiring and captivating.
A surge of joy and applause broke out as the spacecraft vanished from view. Strangers hugged while grinning and congratulating each other. At that moment, the barriers of language, nationality and background seemed to dissolve.
