BEHIND THE BRAND

Talking about her foray into the fashion world, Philu says, “I loved fabrics and always watched my creative grandparents. My paternal grandfather was a professional suit maker, working for the Bollywood film industry. My grandmother, was a florist, who created bridal bouquets. I was so fascinated by their creativity; how a thought turns into actuality always intrigued me.”
A BSc (Zoology) graduate from Dempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, Goa, she went on to study Fashion Technology at Sophia College, Mumbai, graduating in 1996.
Among the well-known designers in Goa at the time were Savio Jon and Wendell Rodricks.
