Standing along the Vagator Beach road, Paz Goa is more than just a cafe. It’s a space where slow living is celebrated, and where every dish, sip and moment brings a sense of peace.
The brainchild of Komal Bhatia, this quaint cafe was born out of introspection, a love for hospitality and a deep connection with Goa’s tranquil energy.
FROM CORPORATE TO CAFÉ DREAM
“My journey started in a classroom at Hindu College, Delhi, where a lecture on self-actualisation sparked a question: What does fulfilment look like for me?” says Komal, whose vision of owning a cafe came years before Paz Goa materialised.
A sabbatical in Goa was the turning point, allowing her to rediscover what truly made her happy, creating a space where people could unwind, connect and share meaningful experiences.
Inspite of having an MBA and a successful corporate banking career, she longed for something more.
A sabbatical in Goa was the turning point, allowing her to rediscover what truly made her happy, creating a space where people could unwind, connect and share meaningful experiences.
Says she, “Goa’s energy was transformative. I knew I had to build something that reflected the peace and joy I found here.” And so, Paz Goa was born, a cafe designed for those who appreciate good food, soulful conversations and a serene atmosphere.
ROOTED IN PEACE
“The name Paz translates to ‘peace’ in Spanish, and that's exactly what this cafe represents,” shares Komal.
With its serene, European-inspired theme, Paz Goa serves as a sanctuary for those in search of quiet moments amidst the hustle and bustle of life. Located on the Vagator Beach road, Paz Goa offers stunning sunrises and a peaceful morning vibe.
Apart from that, guests can also enjoy soulful acoustic Bollywood tunes live every Friday from 6 pm to 10 pm.
“We open at 8 am, welcoming guests to enjoy Goa’s quiet beauty before the world wakes, and stay open till 1 am, serving top-notch coffee all night,” says Komal.
“Get unlimited coffee for just Rs 2,000 a month, made with 100% Arabica beans from MG Plantation in Chickmagalur,” she adds.

MADE WITH LOVE
Paz Goa’s menu reflects its core philosophy—fresh, wholesome and made with love.
Komal recommends the Pesto Chicken Sandwich, a crowd favourite bursting with bold flavours, the classic cold frappe—an ideal refresher for warm Goan days, and the rice bowls—customisable with paneer, chickpeas, prawns or chicken, offering a perfect balance of nutrition.
“Our menu caters to various dietary preferences, including vegan and Jain-friendly options. We also reduce food waste by providing end-of-day discounts on select items," she shares.
On Fridays, Komal highlights a special collaboration with Starfish Beach Shack, offering a delicious local menu which features fish fingers, prawn rissois, chicken croquettes, Goan sausage sandwiches, and more.
So, be sure to drop by on Fridays to savour authentic Goan delicacies at the cafe.
BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH HOSPITALITY
For Komal, the soul of Paz Goa is its people — the guests and the team behind the counter. “Hospitality isn’t just about service, it’s about making every guest feel like they belong,” she says.
Customer feedback has been pivotal in shaping Paz Goa’s identity. One standout suggestion? “A customer once told us, ‘Don’t just post food on Instagram — share content that motivates, educates or entertains’. That advice transformed how we engage with our community online,” explains Komal.
STAYING TRUE TO THE VISION
Like any business, Paz Goa has faced its share of challenges. Staffing, in particular, has been a hurdle. But, instead of seeing it as a roadblock, Komal sees it as an opportunity to foster a supportive and passionate team.
“At the end of the day, the success of a cafe isn’t just about food; it’s about people,” says Komal.
I didn’t come to Goa to chase financial success. I came here for a life of peace, and that’s what I want to share with everyone who walks through our doors.
