Despite growing concerns over the Iran-Israel conflict and its potential impact on global shipping routes, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, has confirmed that cruise tourism in the state remains unaffected for now.

Closely monitoring the unfolding situation in West Asia, including the Iran-Israel conflict and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, the Department has reassured stakeholders and travellers alike that there has been no direct impact on cruise itineraries to Goa.

Cruise liners calling at Mormugao Port or sailing along India's western coast have not reported any diversions, delays, or cancellations.

In an official communication, the Department claimed that Goa continues to remain one of India’s most preferred tourist destinations, with cruise tourism playing an important role in its growing tourism ecosystem.

“The state has witnessed a steady footfall and growing interest from both domestic and international travellers. Cruise operations are continuing without interruption,” the statement declared.

Officials noted that the department is in regular contact with cruise operators and port authorities to ensure preparedness in the event of any future disruptions. “We are tracking global developments closely, but there is no cause for alarm at this time,” the department clarified.

The Tourism Department also highlighted Goa’s strengthened air and road connectivity, robust tourism infrastructure, and diversified offerings beyond the beach, including cultural, spiritual, and hinterland tourism, as key reasons for sustained visitor confidence.

While the global cruise industry remains watchful, Goa is projecting stability. The government has urged travellers to plan their visits with confidence, as all systems remain fully operational to provide a secure, seamless, and enriching experience.

It maintained that Goa has seen a consistent increase in tourist arrivals, especially during the first quarter of the year, with a robust 10.5 per cent year-on-year growth in tourist arrivals for 2025, registering 28,51,554 visitors, up from 25,80,155 in Q1 2024.
